Reviews

Praise God

Through the years, the staff has been very gracious and helpful. Quite recently, though, I felt that a particular employee treated me as if I was an incovenience, or a bother, to them. That disappointed and surprised me. I want to encourage the staff to remember the power of having a kind, professional, and helpful attitude. It makes a huge difference for everyone.

Perfect. Helpful and quaint. Previous negative review was in error. I'm sorry. Non-Sarcastic

Very nice, modern library. A calm and serene environment to get work done or to just catch up on that book you've been meaning to get to!

Questions & Answers

Is there a time limit for using the library to study, and are food and drinks allowed?

Rosie Spencer | Sep 3, 2022
Munster Branch of the Lake County Public Library | Sep 3, 2022

Hello! You can study as long as you like in the public area of the library, but we do ask that you not eat and drink. We also have small group rooms you can reserve that are great for studying. Those can be reserved for up to 2 hours at a time, but if no one is waiting we don't mind if you use them longer!

Do you have a summer reading list for students going into 5th and 6th grade?

Julie Glavin | Nov 2, 2021
Munster Branch of the Lake County Public Library | Nov 2, 2021

Summer reading requirements vary by school - be sure to check with your child's school for a list. If it's just general books for 5th and 6th graders you're looking for, we highly recommend our NoveList plus database, which lets you seek out books by age and many other criteria depending on what your specific reader enjoys. You can find it here: https://www.lcplin.org/next-read (Scroll down a bit to find the link. You'll need your resident or digital access library card number and PIN.) If you'd like more personalized recommendations, feel free to message us at https://www.lcplin.org/ask!

Richard Jordan | Nov 3, 2019
Munster Branch of the Lake County Public Library | Nov 3, 2019

You do, but we have a special card for computer use that anyone can sign up for - you don't need to live in our district, it doesn't cost anything, and all you need is your photo ID to get one.

Does the Munster library have rooms to study in?

Kay B 4ever | Nov 3, 2019
Munster Branch of the Lake County Public Library | Nov 3, 2019

Yes! We have two study rooms that you can book time in. You can book them for two hours a day (though if there is no one else waiting we generally don't have a problem extending the time) and you can book up to two months in advance. Just give us a call (219-836-8450) or head to the desk in person to reserve one.
