I came to this library with friends to draw and do work and chill. The staff constantly bothers us and continues to be rude to us although we did nothing and they constantly tell us to be quiet and get out of a isle no one go through. I would not recommend coming to this library. Also why do we continue to get racially profiled by these librarians? DO NOT COME IF YOU WANT A RELAXING AND SMOOTH EXPERIENCE.

My friends and I came after school to study and draw. We sat down next to an outlet by a window seat where it was quiet and we could work. There were two random pieces of wood on the floor but we didn’t question it. A Liberian then came and stared at us then came back asking us if we moved their stuff? Throughout the entire time we were there they kept coming to bother us. Very rude!!!!! They asked us if we were up to something? While we were sitting like everyone else I feel hurt by the way my friends and I were disrespected when we KNOW we did nothing wrong. We sat down like everyone else yet we were targeted. Parents keep your teens away! Stop supporting them they have sour attitudes.

It was horrible because the Mexican lady in there didn't want to help me so I just told her forget it I don't have time for that what was her job if she couldn't help me

One of the easiest and smooth experience I had an library. Definitely will return.

Yes
Yes we do - you can search for them on our online catalog at https://www.shlibrary.org/catalog
There are cubicles and conference rooms, but the conference rooms have tables that can fit multiple people not just one person to study.
You can also call the library. Explain that you would like to renew your books, and you wont make it in on time . They will renew them for you.
That program took place on September 25. Check our newsletter for our monthly programs: https://www.shlibrary.org/newsletter Have a great day!
Click on the directions prompt and let the GPS guide you!
Youth Services has the same hours as the whole library: Mon-Thu 10am-9pm, Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 10am-5pm.
This is something we are considering. We'll definitely market it through our website, email list and social media if/when we get it.
Yes, Library staff are trained in CPR. We also have two AEDs and staff are trained on their use as well.
Yes, I live in Alsip but work in South Holland. My Alsip-Merrionette Library card is accepted in South Holland and many of the surrounding libraries in the South Suburbs. The surrounding libraries are all part of the same network. You would need an active library card from a nearby library that is within the same network and you should be fine.
