No urgency! A woman came in yelling her son wasn’t breathing she needs a doctor! Maybe I be watching to much tv, but no medical staff came out with any urgency they walking, no CPR the rep just open the door and the lady ran through the doors holding her son. Another lady came in having a miscarriage bleeding and in unbearable pain they literally made her wait and an over an hour not to mention the reason I was there because my mom was involved in a accident with a serious head injury, swollen head , body aces and we wait a while work shift.

Went in for an OD. At this moment I’ve been here in the ER for 30 hours. I’ve seen one doctor once, I only see a nurse when there’s a shift change or when I ask for water. I tested positive for covid so they can’t put me in the psych unit. They told me 9/11 @11PM a few hours after admission id have to be put in a medical bed. It’s 9/13 @2AM and it still has not happened. I asked a couple times if I would ever get to see the psychiatrist and the nurses seem to only get angry with me. They haven’t given me my prescribed psych medications. Half of all of my meals have been missing or uneatable because I’m not allowed to have hot liquids or cutlery. I’m not being treated, I’m being held. This happens every time a family member or I come here but I have no choice because it’s one of the two closest ERs to me and the other one, Olympia Fields, is no better. BHAs on the Dyer psych units are scalding. I’ve been insulted multiple times when I attended the adolescent psych unit years ago. This hospital is only trying to milk my insurance and most of the staff doesn’t gaf. Monica, Margaret, and Paul, though, are very sweet and some of the only caring people I’ve met in this hospital.

Amanda should not be the person to do in-take assessments. At all. And when I say at all? I mean AT ALL. She lacks empathy and would do better to be in the military or law enforcement. As a person (me) who had some military experience, she definitely fits in with women drill sergeants who perhaps have a point to prove. On the flip side of that same coin, she also epitomizes the group of people who don't like their jobs, may have some inner struggles or family challenges that affect her job performance. Either way, she should not be in the health sector. When people come into a health facility for whatever their needs are, they should be met with actual warmth. I'm not oblivious to the times we're living in either. With ongoing COVID cases, mental health crisis(es) across the entire race spectrum and your common heart attacks, strokes, fractures and pregnancies, health care professionals can definitely be under a tremendous amount of stress. I'm definitely sensitive to that. And yet, in the event that a healthcare staff member is having challenges that will affect their customer-service and effectiveness, it is highly encouraged that they utilize some of their PTO days. Patients who are sick should not be left in the hands of people who are not able to provide CARE in the health care industries. It is definitely a trigger for those who are already struggling with their health. If I hadn't met Julie, who went above and beyond, was caring, watchful, consistent and a true care giver, I would have definitely walked out much earlier. If Julie ever sees this or if anyone ever gets the chance to meet Julie, she's beyond attentive. She's a short -statured, Asian/Hispanic, walking lump of sugar who made me feel as comfortable as she knew how. She not only gave me quality care but I witnessed her taking care of others with the same amount of warmth and effectiveness. I was even more grateful as she continued to address the inquiries that came her way from different departments and she was still able to maintain such a sweet spirit while care-taking. Hire more people like Julie and less Amandas (Karens) so people can feel safe, protected and cared for in places like hospitals. #thankyouJulie

So how much did your mom have to pay? I'm pretty sure it was significantly more than a dime. The nuns run these places and in my experience they don't play or give away money I'm curious. Good luck. LOL!]
How do check to see if a person id still in hospital
Yes I have ppo insurance they accept it.
I usually try 0 for the operator. Everything else is automated.
