One of the reasons I got tired of living in Kankakee County is the ridiculous water and sewer rates. I've paid about $100 a month for one person. I moved to Mokena this year. My most recent monthly bill is $51.77 for water, sewer and refuse combined. Mokena has Chicago water. It's horrible that Aqua charges so much for Kankakee River water. For anyone thinking of moving, stay out of Homer Glen. They have a different private water company, Illinois American. There, a single person pays over $100 a month. Families of five pay about $300 a month. Another ridiculous situation. Aqua's stellar administrative staff screwed up final billing. All along, I've paid my bill thru bank account deductions. My final reading was done in early September and at end of September, they take out $157 from my bank account. Today I got a letter from Aqua threatening sending my bill to a collections agency. I call and I was told "you're account is closed, your balance is zero, disregard the notice. Your final payment was applied later in the date the notice was issued." Well, Aqua, get it together. Program your system properly so threatening notices are not sent out to customers inappropriately. I will never buy a home in a town Aqua ever serves again.

They get one star because I can’t give them zero stars. Horrible company. Don’t under how they are even still in business. They are corrupt and don’t care at all about the people they service. Water is disgusting and crazy expensive. I don’t know how anyone who works for this company sleeps at night. They shut your water off for any reason like “we want you to change your water meter and this was the only way to get that to happen” then they schedule your appointment out 3 days and leave you without water the whole time. They are a nightmare.

Drive all the way down to the Kankakee office to pay my deceased brothers final bill and although the sight says it is open - it is closed to the public. Try paying online and they cannot locate the account even with the account number (I have the bill in front of me). Call customer service and the recording says my wait time is OVER an hour. Seriously?!?! This place is ridiculous!

Good question! As a former employee I may or may not feel the same as you. But most of the guys you see in uniform are great people
