I was on the lawn for a concert where it rained almost all day! Ravinia says they don't allow you to bring in shelter, that they will be confiscated or asked to remove, but that's not true. I saw plenty of them!! Please make a policy, communicate it and then enforce it. I would have had much better experience if I wasn't soaking wet.

It's a very family friendly atmosphere. Especially on the lawn you will see children of all ages running around and enjoying the music. Some people bring strollers which is fine in the lawn area but if you have pavillion seats they will ask you to leave it in a holding area as there isn't room inside.
The lawn seat as many people of tickets that they have sold. If you are sitting in the lawn area BE SURE TO get there early as it's a first come gets the BEST SEAT. Like the neighborhood park type thing. Good luck and enjoy the show

The show goes on rain or shine..I was there a couple of weeks ago for Anita Baker..it was rainy..muddy and cold. I have been there several times in bad weather..the show went on..Because the only people getting wet are the people on the lawn. You have to experience it for yourself. Have fun.
