My company and I had dinner last night and it was very wonderful. I booked a table via their event coordinator, Danielle, and she was very helpful with getting the party set up and the details. Our waitress, Amy, was wonderful and very helpful throughout the night. She explained all the food very well and we couldn't ask for a better waitress. Food: 100% would go back and eat at this restaurant to try more of their delicious sounding offerings. I let them know we had a vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free folks and the chef sent out some additional dishes to help accommodate for that. As well as putting the specific dairy or gluten things on the side for the other dishes we ordered. I also asked about ADA accommodations for a wheelchair and the River North location did not have any steps or anything to get around. The West Loop location has an elevator to get to the event space. The accommodations were very clear. 1000% would go back. Thanks for such a wonderful time!

Being from Chicago, you aren’t easily surprised by a great pizza. However, since trying the pizza at Avec River North, it has been the center of both my dreams and nightmares :) The crust is, I believe, made from the pita dough. The cheese is always perfectly selected yet always uniquely left or right of center. The wood burning oven is the metaphorical cherry on top. When this restaurant was named Pacific Standard Time (same owners), they had a much wider selection of pizzas on the menu. (I really miss the whole PST concept, it was inherently refreshing) With the new Avec concept, the food is equally creative yet not as tasty as it once was. Hopefully they will turn it back around.

Food was interesting in concept but not at all tasty in practice. If done well, these menu items could be delicious. But the execution in each of the 5-7 dishes we ordered were not just not tasty. But actually tasted pretty bad. Broken sauces, over seasoned, under seasoned, generally bad tasting food. Also it took us about 2 hours to get our main courses. We were served drinks, appetizers, then we proceeded to wait about 90mins before being served any of our other dishes. Generally rude wait staff, too many weird encounters to list here. But overall the service was a 1/10 and the food was a 2/10. I have not been to their sister restaurant but they must be run by different management to have earned a Michelin star…

5 of us came to celebrate a friend's birthday. Service was extremely slow and quite rude. We were told to move our jackets and weren't offered a place to set them. They said it was in the way of service coming in, but no one came in that direction anyway in the almost 4 hours we were there. Our waitress didn't get our food order until an hour in. We waited another 2.5 hours for our food to come out and she came back asking if we were ready for dessert. At this point, we had only received 1 entree 2.5 hours into service when we had ordered 4 entrees and 3 appetizers. When we told her, all of the sudden - all the food came rushing in and got cold as we tried to eat it all. Our waitress rarely checked in on us. The food wasn't great. It was quite mediocre. Also, a lady came by to drop off an entree we didn't order. When we informed her, she was rude and scoffed at us. Waitress ended up comping our 2 drinks and brought out 2 desserts, but I don't think that was worth all the time we spent just sitting there, waiting. We had planned to hit the bars and do other things after, but didn't expect dinner to take so long. Wouldn't recommend this place for any occasion.
