Great experience and delicious food. Best chicken enchiladas I have ever had. Six adults and every one really enjoyed their meal. Great service and atmosphere. Will definitely return here in the future. Really beautiful setting in the courtyard! We had reservations so had no waiting and food served without delay. We met the owner on our way out, super friendly, and gave us the history on the restaurant. That made it even more special!

I was born and raised in SA, moved off, and returned on vacay to check out La Fonda because of the reviews and recommendations we had heard and read about. I can appreciate the historical aspect of this place, but it fell flat on its face when we ate there. The food is overhyped and not authentic. In my opinion, the food is a ritzy white man’s tailored version of Mexican food. My wife got the sour cream chicken enchiladas. I should have had the manager apologize for serving it. It was horrible. The chips were stale as well. The waiter was nice, but left us for 20+ minutes without checking on us. If you want puro authentic, go to Garcia’s, Lucy’s, Tellez, or Mi Terra.

We made a reservation and they had it ready for us as soon as we walked in. We ordered chips and salsa for an appetizer. The bowls were small and they were not bottomless. The salsa was spicy but it took a few bites to taste the full flavor. I had the Suizas and my husband had the Pato Fideo bowl. Both of our main meals were very good! The service was a little slow overall. We waited a while for drink refills and they forgot to bring a couple of things we asked for.

The place is beautiful and the food and cafe were both amazing.

I like it because you can sit outside. But inside it looks like they're practicing social distancing very well. Their Margaritas are the bomb made with fresh lime juice❣
the black beans both whole and refried are vegan. they have vegan fajitas but you have to request a salad or double beans instead of rice. no vegan rice option. they have spinach enchilada plate and a camote enchilada plate that can be made vegan. just be sure and express that to your server.
They also serve a Sangria, which is really good. Much better than a margarita.
I don't know chef name; however we watched him preparing his desserts
They no longer have a private room. It has been converted into a general dining area
Yes, we have a handicapped entrance on the right hand side of the building that goes into our main dining room, as well as an entrance on the left hand side of the building that goes onto our patio. Thank you!
I wouldn't recommend trying to eat at the bar It's very small and it's near the front door so when it's crowded you'll barely be able to stand near it
I agree. They're very nice & will probably be able to help you.
