Cute little trek in the woods. They keep it in pretty good shape especially when you consider this age of homelessness and drug addiction. It's a good respite from the filth, squalor and criminality that is plaguing every empty lot or public park in our region. Why doesn't society make earnest attempts at addressing the mental health issues that are ravaging this country? Junkies are taking over. I digress... We visited on a warm sunny day so we're fortunate enough to see frogs, turtles, tadpoles, and water fowl among other beasties in their made to order habitat. The turtles we saw were non indigenous red eared sliders. Even though they are invasive, they are still fun to watch and they don't do much harm. They just do turtle things. So if you're up for a pleasant stroll with all kinds of wildlife to observe, do it on this park's meandering trails. It's a refreshing experience!

This place is a gem amongst the humdrum of the city. Never would you expect to see such gorgeous and captivating scenery right in the heart of north Tacoma. Several different trail options accommodate the learning and the experienced, providing a good mix of scenery, elevation, inclination and more. Various places to bench up and catch your breath, all while barely needing to travel down the street. Absolutely love the park and location and will definitely be coming back.
