i here the upper river rafting is better. Doesn't it have to do with the power plant releasing water?

The upper has class 3 and 4 rapids so that makes for a more adventurous ride..The Pigeon River is a damn controlled river so yes with the water releases we have those class 3 and 4s..

We don't raft in October sorry

Can you wear water shoes? It says close toed shoes but are the water shoes acceptable?

Actually, as far as rafting, the shoes don't even have to be closed toed! As long as they are secure around your ankle. So water shoes, Chacos, Tevas, tennis shoes, etc will work
