Anonymous Tips
There is a reason that this Flag remains a monumental herald to all of Davis County and the surrounding area; yearly on 9/11 a local group of individuals will hike together from the basepoint of the neighborhood up to the Flag, exacting the total height of the towers. Though not yet able to do that for myself, this hike was very memorable and though quite difficult, it was well worth it. Some tips though to consider for your experience: 1) brings plenty of water, better to bring more than you think you'll need. This hike is an elevation climb, you will need water, so plan for it. 2) there are three different routes that can be used to complete this hike. On the east side, there is a trail in Morgan that can provide access, with the remaining two being accesible from the west side (Davis County Area) and can be used via a Farmington Neighborhood or the Bountiful Shoreline Trail. I recommend the latter as it provided shade almost the entire time we hiked, and had switchbacks which avoided the other south side which is almost completely exposed to the sun the entire hike (literally no shade), for reference we came up from the north side of the Bountiful Shoreline Trail which was the most ideal. 3) Be sure to go with a group and enjoy the hike, together! Be careful, there are a lot of dropoffs along the trailhead as this is a mountainous climb to the top, so be prepared for that. 4) Try leaving in the morning, as well as making use of sunblock, with regular applications throughout! 5) Try to enjoy the hike, it's a journey, but one that is well worth it! Overall: Hike is a moderately difficult hike, can best be enjoyed if proper preparation is assessed for water, snacks and sunblock, the vistas at the top are well worth it!

Such a great hike, a bit challenging but it’s totally worth it, it sucks that they closed patsy’s mine… Last time I went there it was shut with concrete.

It's about 2 miles to the top but 1,942 feet in elevation gain so if you're not an experienced hiker take it slow! It's definitely challenging but there's not reason a beginner couldn't handle this if you just take your time. As with all hikes, going in the morning will be much cooler, but I especially recommend it with this hike because there's no shade on the whole thing. We did this hike in April last year and it was very hot to have the sun on us the whole time so keep that in mind and bring lots of water and sunscreen. The views were incredible, I'd do this hike again.

The elevation gain is 1,469, and you should be able to find out if you look up Flag Rock Farmington Utah on Google and click on any of the websites.
Yes, dog friendly. It's open terrain, not a state park area regulated. You'll see tons of other dogs there...some on leash, most off. Just be polite and pick up after your pooch!
