Homewood Suites by Hilton Richmond-Downtown

The entrance to Homewood Suites lobby is actually on 7th street not Main. The rooftop restaurant and the one on the first floor on Main is closed. The pool is closed also. Housekeeping needs to do a better job at cleaning. Had to check into three different rooms before finally finding a clean room. This hotel should lower their prices due to lack of cleaning, the furniture in the rooms are so worn and damaged and past due on maintenance. For guests that will need do laundry it’s $2.50 a load and it only takes a credit card no quarters. The elevator system isn’t the norm. There is hot breakfast at this hotel. I travel for work and have stayed in Hilton hotels for sometime and this is the first Hilton hotel that puts a tip jar out on the counter with breakfast. Breakfast is included in our hotel daily rate. I thought the tip jar was a bit tacky. Just strange why would guest tip for breakfast that’s included in the high hotel rate?! The good thing about this hotel is its location. The area is walking distance to lots of tourists attractions and restaurants.

Loved it here! The front desk girl, when we first checked in was WONDERFUL! The parking garage is tight but so nice to have it all in the same building! When we got to our room, we were floored at how nice it was! We only stayed for one night but we wanted to stay for many more! I would highly recommend them to stay! It across the street from “Capital Ale House” and we got to see some amazing music and it was so nice to just walk across the street and chill out in our room. This room had a king size bed, full kitchen with all the plates, bowls, pots, pans, utensils, etc you could need! Full size fridge as well! Couch/living area. Beautiful bathroom and our favorite was the bedroom! It was so nice to be able to have the door on the room just for extra safely. We loved staying here.

Hotel is in disrepair and dirty. It is obvious ownership and management have no pride. This is not a high end Hilton brand but the expectation of cleanliness and maintenance is not to much. Staff made us feel tolerated to be there as opposed to welcome. We will certainly be staying elsewhere next time we visit Richmond.

Confusing and disappointing. Charged extra to use disaster of a parking garage. Rooftop closed, although still advertised. Room layout makes no sense. Large empty foyer with everything else crammed into corners. Lights and TV did not work. I asked for sheets and told I could come down to get some (thanks). Elevator automatically leads to lobby of sister hotel, adding to the confusion. No one seemed to care about anything. Will not return.
