Austere and avowedly egalitarian, the nave doesn't offer a great deal to see (except the old-time sounding board: still works!), but exhibits explain Quaker values, history, and contributions, which were/are truly remarkable. Quiet contemplation is the name of the game here. And where better to learn about the Society of Friends than this historic congregation in the heart of old Philadelphia?

As my family was one of the first Quaker families to settle in Pennsylvania with William Penn, this place has a special meaning to me.
