Have always been very pleased with Dr Desrossiers .I have worn glasses since childhood. Am a senior citizen. I have had experience with some of the best ophthalmologists in the US because I have experienced some substantial issues. Although not an ophthalmologist she has been as thorough and often more so in her examination and prescription for glasses. In my experience she is unexcelled in her field. Her approach is friendly, understanding, and yet professional. She has my highest recommendation.

I have been a patient of Dr. D’s for only a couple years now and the welcome you get when you walk through the door just seems to get better and better at each visit. Everyone that works there is just an absolute pleasure to talk to. And Dr. D, she is just the best, she’s super thorough, explains everything as she goes and it’s like sitting with a friend you’ve known for years and just happen to be getting an eye exam/checkup, the time flies and before you know it, it’s done. As long as Dr. D and her great staff are there, it will be the only one I continue to go to! 🤗

I love Dr. Joyce Desrosiers. She is always patient, thorough and explains any and all findings (especially when you have that worried look lol). I would recommend HER to anyone.

Questions & Answers

Does eye clinic refit sunglasses with prescription lenses ? I have a pair of Maui Jim's Spartan Reef. If you will how long would it take. Thanks

Hi Darrell. We can put prescription lenses in to Maui Jim sunglasses. There are many factors involved. If your prescription is powerful (high strength) it might not work. The Maui Jim Spartan Reef is a frame that has a certain amount of wrap (not flat like clear prescription eyewear), therefore it can also cause a certain amount of "swim" when you look from side to side. Again, this depends upon your prescription. If you bring the frame in along with your prescription - we can evaluate the situation and determine if it is possible. We'd be glad to help you.

do you make glasses for dry MD

We do make glasses, but dry macular degeneration is a medical problem. The macula of the eye is like the film of the camera. Even if the camera has the best lens possible, if the film is bad, the pictures will still come out blurry. So, it totally depends on how bad your dry macular degeneration is as to whether you'll be able to see better with a new prescription. The only way to really know is to get an updated refraction to see if a change in prescription will help you. I hope this answer helps.

Assuming that the right frame can be found, is it possible to insert the lenses removed from a pair of glasses that has a broken frame?

Hi James, the answer is yes that is possible. BUT, it is usually very hard to find a frame that would be the exact shape of the lenses. Basically it means finding another frame the exact same shape and size as the frame the lenses came out of. If you went to a smaller frame, there is the possibility of grinding down the lenses to fit a smaller frame, but depending upon whether the lenses are progressive, bifocal or single vision if this would work. I hope this helps.
