I’ve stayed at this motel multiple times before and I’ve never had the issues like I did this past time. Me and my family arrived to an absolutely disgusting room. The floors were clearly not vacuumed or mopped and the bathroom was dirty so we started poking around a little more. There were snacks from the last guests still on the floor, and trash behind the dresser. The dresser which doubles as the kitchen area was filthy and for some reason had a towel covering the top of it. We lifted the towel and wished we hadn’t. The TV was busted, The shower handle was missing, and the mattress protectors on both beds were completely filthy and moldy. We called them to let them know and see if there was anything that could be done, but they had an excuse for everything. “Well her vacuum isn’t that great” “she must’ve left snacks in there while she was cleaning“ “we’re in the process of renovating” We could’ve dealt with everything else but the worst part were the moldy mattress protectors. There wasn’t even an excuse for that one. The manager said that they just don’t have the time to take them off and wash them. The solution to this was to bring us extra comforters so that we didn’t have to get into the sheets at all. That was it. She told us there were no other rooms and no other vacancy on the island so she could refund us and send us on our way but we weren’t gonna find a room anywhere else. No compensation and no help. She did say they recently got a new owner so since we’ve had great experiences before I think that may be the issue, it seemed like there wasn’t much she (the manager) could really do. I really never write reviews, but given the state of the room, and the lack of anything being done about it made me feel like I had to say something. What was supposed to be my family’s one getaway for the summer turned out to be super disappointing and we unfortunately will not be coming back.

Everyone is very nice and friendly. Its peacefull and quite. I love that I can bring my lab mix with us. Staying for a week for my birthday!
