The police force in this city is only good at showing harmless drivers bad look, and not capable nor willing to deal with the real crime. Of course it's easy to pick up the soft bread, and let the hard ones at large, but by doing so, you just once again declair your incompetence.

My car was hit in a hit and run on Howard street downtown last Tuesday (11/12/19). I called district 4 at 8:58am on Wednesday morning when I noticed the damage. They said they’d dispatched an officer; two phone calls and two HOURS later, no one had come. I called for the fourth time and they sent me to a desk officer named Officer Gluenfolder. He got all my information and was going to give me a claim number; we were disconnected. I waited two hours and he never called me back. During that time, I left two voicemails with my phone number for him. I then went to the police station to try to get this dealt with. Sat there for an hour and was told I had to go back to the crime scene even though my vehicle was the only one damaged and I had video footage (including the license plate) of the person who hit me on a flash drive. It’s been five hours at this point. I go back to the scene and it’s handled in ten minutes. The officer (Wooden?) says he’ll put out a warrant for the license plate. I called Monday morning (11/18/19) and was told I’d be called if they had any updates. Based on my experience thus far, that translates to: we don’t care and we aren’t doing anything. My car has over $3,600 worth of damage from the incident. Extremely disappointing that I did everything correctly in my situation, including giving thrbpolice video proof, yet a felon is getting away with this.
