Called at 5:30am this morning for the emergency line. The man who answered was obviously asleep, incoherent, and even asked twice after I told him, "what kind of animal do you have?". He just kept telling me the place opened at 7:30am and I should wait til then since it's almost open anyway "how's that sound?" he just kept repeating. Well it sounds like you don't want to do your job. Why have an emergency line at all? Edited:After talking with the day receptionist and being transfered to someone else, I was told that the man who answered had been up until 4am doing emergency and was tired. She said broken legs are not an emergency and can wait until operating hours. That you are welcome to call the emergency line but there is nothing to be done. Also, that she had a dog that broke its leg in the evening and she waited til morning to bring her own dog into be seen. As someone who has broken a leg and knowing how painful it is, I can't imagine anyone making an animal sit in that pain for hours, especially when someone like me is willing to pay the emergency fee to get their pet treated. Also a follow up, I took my 14 year old senior cat to another vet and he has green stick fractures the length of his leg, will be in a brace for 8 weeks, and likely limp the rest of his life if the leg heals at all, due to his age.
