I hate that I even have to write this review, I really enjoy supporting local businesses, and always shop local if I have the opportunity to do so. I visited Roberson and Dupree on Friday, October 7th after cashing my check, I was waiting on my husband, needed a new pair of shoes (or three) and was there to spend some money. Originally, I thought I only had a few minutes (he was in southern bank next door putting money on his card) so I had to hurry. I went in, asked if they had a certain shoe, they said no without any other greeting or asking if I need help. I wondered around for about 3 minutes, found a pair of shoes that were basically the same exact shoe but not brand (you’d figure they’d recommend them since I was looking specifically for that kind of shoe but they didn’t) but I found them anyway, Took them to the counter, paid for them and walked out. I went to my mother in laws car, put them on, and waited a few minutes. He was in the bank still so I said oh well, I’ll go back in and actually look around since I had a few minutes. I walked around in my new shoes, tried on a few pair, then I saw him walk out the bank. I went out to the sidewalk in front of the store, called him inside to look at a few pairs of Ariat boots he had been looking for. He came in and politely asked for help in sizing. He was extremely nice to the associate Taylor who was helping us. We decided we were gonna walk into the bank to withdrawal cash to buy multiple pairs of shoes I saw that I wanted and while we were In there, we get pulled out by police who wanted to speak with us because they had reports of a tattooed couple ‘stealing shoes’. Instead of confronting us when we walked out, or hell, even checking their cameras, they profiled us I feel, and just called and reported us. I had my bag, my mother in laws car and trunk searched, and guess what? NO STOLEN SHOES. As I’m crying and having a panic attack outside from being confronted by the police and the fact I just had my mother in laws car searched and how embarrassed we both were, I ask if I could return the shoes I had literally purchased 20 minutes before and was told no because they had been worn for literally 10 minutes. Out of the three employees who were there, none of them greeted us, asked if we needed help, and none of the three were decent enough to come out and apologize for the trouble they had caused us Friday afternoon, so we took our $600 we were about to spend with them down the road to a store they didn’t treat us like criminals in. We tattoo outside of town so A lot of my clients are aware of the situation and pretty disgusted as well. If you’re in the market for a nice pair of shoes, beware of this store. We treat everybody with dignity and respect and unfortunately weren’t treated the same. Go somewhere they value their customers and understand they’re not entitled to their money.

My dh has been usung R&D for several yrs. He needed the wide but dress/casual shoes. Hard to find with a good fit! I needed some good women's shoes so I visited. They were absolutely great. Personal & helpful. Although we are from out of town, will be back!

This local business does it right! Both kids had a growth spurt and needed shoes at the same time. The staff measured each child's foot and found some shoes the kids loved (on clearance) on the very first try! Even got some for myself on sale as well. Make sure to go see them first. You won't be disappointed. 👍
