We have photographed several weddings at this unique and outdoorsy wedding venue in western Mass! The Bascom Lodge is set on top of a mountain with nearly 360 degree scenic views surrounding it. The Appalachian Trail runs right through the property and there are several great woodsy spots for wedding portraits. There is also a wildflower field, and of course, beautiful blue mountain backdrops. The ceremony site is located on a little plateau behind the lodge. Guests are facing a majestic mountain range as couples say their vows! We love photographing weddings at this beautiful venue in North Adams!

My wife and I triple-checked their website and Google to ensure that they were open. We planned a 10-mile hike and planned to eat lunch there. Upon arrival, the manager or owner was socially conversing with a friend and then finally looked at us to tell us they were closed. I explained to him that we checked everything and it said they were open. I suggested he update their hours online. He rudely replied, "We can't update our hours every day!"

Comfy lodge and amenities but staff was incredibly disorganized with lots of miscommunications, confusion and rushing around. They seemed very short staffed with only 3 people for all dining and overnight guests and couldn't even sell us a drink from the front desk cooler for over 30 minutes. They even forgot about my reservation to stay when I arrived and couldn't locate my details or payment for ages. Curfew at 11 meant no trips out stargazing which felt like summer camp restrictions. Continental breakfast consists of a muffin and coffee only unless you pay 12$ more.
