I loved it! The path to a normal life one that really opens your eyes instead of walking around with a blind fold on a path to a higher power one that you have to be looking for cause you can never find something if your not looking for it right!!

My sobriety and continued recovery is owed in large part to The Gateway Foundations residential treatment program and Recovery Home in Jacksonville Illinois. They helped me give myself another chance at life. During my stay there I learned a lot about who I am as well as who I strive to become. I learned to love myself, life, and everything that comes with it. I love the good and even the bad because I learned that everything that happens in my life has a bigger purpose and meaning even if I can’t see it right away; eventually it’s purpose will be shown to me as long as I’m paying attention. The only way for me to see it though is to keep my mind healthy, clean, and clear through sobriety💙 Thank you Gateway. Thank you Dusty. Thank you Austin. Thank you Katelynn. Thank you Kasia.

The only reason there are 2 stars is because I think there are still good people at Gateway wanting to do good. Let’s start with our first attempt to get my brother in. We finally got him to agree to go. Gateway admissions told us they had a bed ready for him on a Monday. We picked him up from a psych facility out of state a day before and traveled to drop him off straight away. Upon one final phone call to double check arrival time, a VERY rude person on the phone said he couldn’t go because they had an insurance bed for him…not a grant funded bed. So they changed their story and the person on the phone was very mean and rude basically blaming us for not knowing the difference even though a gateway admission rep set us up the bed knowijg he needed the grant bed in the first place and knowing we were traveling out of state to get him. Next he got himself a grant funded bed a month or so later. Attended for just 30 days. Died via relapse overdose 3 weeks after getting out. We then found out after his death that a “counselor” aka a recovering addict that was not even sober had been stalking him while he was in there. She gave him positive reviews when other “counselors” said he was suicidal. Then she convinced him to not go to a sober living facility because she promised to buy him a car and fly him to las vegas for celebration and alcohol. Are you kidding me? We are now trying to find out how long the employees and director knew about this stalking occurring as the same counselor then stalked his partner and our mother after his death. Why did gateway do nothing to prevent it? They set him up with no sponsor, no additional rehab time, no sober living, my brother died 3 weeks later. Then the “counselor” tried to steal back the car she bought him. We have contacted Gateway Ethics department although they are now refusing to respond. It’s important to note my brother suffered from a 10 year addiction. He would have needed multiple rehab attempts to stay sober and healthy. It would not have been an easy road. But he didn’t even have the minimal support he needed from them. This facility seems like a joke to me. I’d encourage you to find a safer, better trained facility for you or your loved one.

I am Definitely doing it for myself, but my parents are in their 70s, and I don't think they can go through this with me
Yes
