Horror experience We rented this U-Haul weeks in advance for our move from an apartment to our first house. What is supposed to be a happy day, turned sour first thing in the morning. We were supposed to pick up our truck from a location 2-3 minutes away from the apartment. A mile or less. The morning of the move-it’s been moved across town (technically a whole different town) 20-30 minutes away. About 20 miles. And you pay for a dollar a mile. We get there at 715 and the keys aren’t in the lock box. We call the 800 number and low and behold they just didn’t put them out the night before. So we have to drive BACK to our apartment and wait with our movers until we can get the U-Haul. We go back to the store and it’s just opened but no one is around. We scream through the store and call the store number 3-4 times with no one coming up. We go outside and scream. We go around the building and can’t find a single soul. It’s not until someone PULLS IN at 930 are we able to get someone to help us. The manager was “in the back room”. Eventually he comes out-not in uniform- and starts belittling the employee. He interrupts us getting our truck. He talks about how no one can go past a certain area because he’s on the forklift and almost killed 3 students the day before. And he will kill someone. (This in front of my fiancé, me, and another customer.) He is extremely hostile and unapproachable. He says he’s “not in the mood today”. We, being already 3 hours behind in our day and having to pay our movers almost double for the extra time they spent there (we had them scheduled for 4 hours), get our truck and leave. Not only do we not have time to argue with the manager, but we would be wasting additional money for the movers. Everything else goes fine, but then again… we didn’t have to talk to another UHaul employee.

Did not appreciate being lied to. They did not communicate that they would charge a $30 late fee on a $10 bill..I think they pulled the wool over our eyes and I don’t appreciate it

Nope. But i came in with a cross country move and trouble with the truck
They close at about 6pm at that location. But try the number anyway because it may be answered by the uhaul locator services anyway. The smallest truck rents for about 14.95 and I'm not sure if they would discount it for a few hours of use. Good Luck.
