This is an urban store, on 3 levels. To change levels, there are stairs and an elevator. It has always been a pain in the butt to shop here, but that has been offset by it's urban charm and convenience. Recently, it seems like something bad has happened! The rear entrance has been closed, another entrance from a small mall has been blocked with a security gate. The last remaining entrance has a uniformed security guard behind a lectern sort of thing, and new metal fences direct you into either produce or bakery. The homeless gather at this entrance, so customers are forced to wade past them to enter. You can no longer walk straight into the store. Not only is it not charming, it feels dangerous and scary. I decided not to go in. Other reviewers are saying they've locked up everything including the ice cream, so am feeling like not going in was a good decision.

Very clean store! As an out of town visitor, the layout was kind of confusing but it could not have been helped since of the second floor. The store managed to make it work. I had to ask for help from Mauricio who was very friendly and even knew the exact aisle I needed! When I was checking out in the self check out, Becky (or Becca. I forget the exact spelling) helped me. She even gave me the QFC membership discount and helped save me 2.00! Everyone was very friendly. Great store.

I won’t be shopping at this location anymore- many items are locked up and you have to find an employee to access (including ICE CREAM. But only some of it, not all?). You have to pay separately for liquor and for anything in their home department. Hugely inconvenient. All because our city can’t get their act together and has allowed that whole area to become ground zero for drug deals, which obviously has led to lots of theft in the store. Bless the employees who work here, but it’s worth the longer trip to have a convenient and safe shopping experience elsewhere. In the words of he-who-shall-not-be-named- SAD!

assaulted by homeless people hanging out all the time outside the front door then treated like criminal inside just trying to buy ice cream but had to wait nearly 40 minutes after i asked 9 separate times for somebody to come unlock the darn fridge. like you have 3 doors locked in that whole entire place that makes zero sense to me at all. And no it was not busy but only one person had the key and nobody could reach them... Safeway is like a block farther and up a hill but i'll be going there from now on. lost my business...
