Went to pick up my script today and realized and told the pharmacist that it was the wrong amount and dose of medication. I left a message on their antiquated answering machine which i knew was a mistake about refilling my medication. Turns out the pharmacist knowingly refilled my current script with an old script even though RX numbers did not match. This is a scary medication error. A senior citizen with multiple medications may not have caught this error and went home and taken a medication that was five times the dose. This is what bothers me the most. Its hard enough being sick, but for a pharmacist just to assume what rx refill to give with non matching numbers is neglect. I realize that mistakes are made but a simple text or phone call to me and I could have cleared up the mistake and why the rx numbers did not match. Turns out they had me in their computer system twice which sounds like another error. Furthermore, they wanted me to pay for this med (which needed to be compounded and would take a couple days) up front which i have never had to do and for some unknown reason the price was more than twice what it was before which really upset me. since i was out of med, they had 5 pills to get me through but of course at this point I didnt want anything to do with them but i needed my med. after getting who i assumed was the manager, they basically gave me an ultimatum to pay a full months dose for 5 pills or pay for the 3 month supply right then. having no other choice, i purchased the medication but needless to say they no longer have my loyalty and I will not be filling any meds here. Its a shame because i like to support local business but being treated like their mistake was my problem had me clearly upset. my trust was burned. always know and double check your medications.
