As a beginner skater, the staff here were extremely welcoming and helpful, and were giving tips and general information about skating. During checkout, the staff discounted my purchase by sixteen dollars. Incredible place.

Absolutely awesome. We shopped around at a few places, not really sure what we were looking for until we got to Grit City. We purchased a complete and a custom for our children, and the staff was incredibly welcoming, patient, and knowledgeable. They explained every single style of longboard, the best uses, and sizes to our family and let our kids test pretty much everything with wheels in the shop. They were incredibly kind, and helpful. The man who assembled our son’s board explained what he was doing every step of the way, and definitely made a lasting impression. Highly recommend and will be coming back.

Grass roots skateboarding. Friendly staff. Wide range of skateboard selection for all riders including longboards. AND the ramps in the back make it a perfect rainy day skate destination. Great for beginner lessons and summer camps too!

They have prism cruisers in stock. I'm sure they'd order some downhill boards for you if you want them!

Is it free to skate or do you have to pay to play?

Pay to play. Totally reasonable though, and they have boards and helmets. Also other times during the month it's girls only or boys only.
