The Evergreen Point Floating Bridge, also known as the 520 Bridge and officially the Governor Albert D. Rosellini Bridge, carries Washington State Route 520 across Lake Washington from Seattle to its eastern suburbs. The 7,710-foot-long (2,350 m) floating span is the longest floating bridge in the world,as well as the world's widest measuring 116 feet (35 m) at its midpoint. Due to non availability of firm soil foundation, normal bridge construction was not possible hence floating bridge is cosbstructed.

Seriously this is one of my favorite place to run in Seattle. The multi-use path is straight, long, flat (except for the two ends), with beautiful, wide open lake view. On a clear day, you'll also be able to see Mt. Rainier on the other side of the bridge. The half mile or so on the west side also features great views of Union Bay including Husky Stadium, Foster Island and wetlands. Always a pleasure to log some miles on this floating bridge (yes the bridge is actually floating on the lake because the water is too deep!!).

Do yourself a favor and walk this bridge at least once. I mean really take your time. The views are very beautiful and alive. It's really never busy, but check for events first. *Please use safety first. There are viewpoints/rest areas but no real shade. Cycling is one thing, walking is another.

I take this bridge just so I can pay the toll. I-90 provides a similar traffic jam, but the lack of toll to go with it is disappointing. It's also good that there is no park-and-ride on the west side, because that could spoil the experience.

Yes it uses a serious of pontoons anchored to the lake floor via steel cables to keep it in place.
If you have a good to go pass then you will pay partial toll, means less than the original fee.
If you get a good to go pass it's generally $2 cheaper
