I have had multiple issues with them getting the correct meds to the correct pharmacy. I like them doctors but say for that I would avoid coming here. I called several days ago to try and be seen as I've been off my meds for some time. No return call, no follow up and the sad part is I had already anticipated this and scheduled elsewhere. For a clinic that deals with mental health you'd expect them to try their utmost to help reduce any stress associated with the whole process. That unfortunately in my case was not the service I received.

Don’t listen to these reviews. Alta Vista has truly helped me throughout the years. I started at Crossroads where Noelle guided me and the caseworkers put my needs first. I needed help again and called Noelle and she assisted me with getting the help that was needed. Phew, to seeing familiar faces! The receptionists greeted me once I arrived and were genuine and kind. Admission process speaking with Kelsey was pleasant and eased by anxiety. Professionalism through the end. I would highly recommend this agency.

If you’re in any kind of crisis, STAY AWAY!!!! It should NOT take literally almost a year to start seeing someone, no matter how “busy” the practice claims to be, and yet that was exactly my experience. Despite leaving multiple voice mails pleading for a call back, more often than not they would just ignore the message. Also, if you do decide to give these jokers a try, PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BILLS, because they WILL try and bill you for services not even rendered. Still at a loss as to how I could’ve been seen by my therapist in December when I have neither lived in nor visited Reno since November and never saw her via zoom or anything else remotely.

Had to wait 3 weeks for office intake. When I came 15 minutes early I was told my appointment had been rescheduled for the end of April. Dr. Had been sick. Receptionist had very little sympathy for me just a curt ...sorry.

Questions & Answers

whom do I contact about concerns with a member of the receptionist staff mistreating a patient by lying to them when they are inquiring about a re-scheduled appointment; resulting in getting this mental health patient all worked up into a frenzy?

There is a provider shortage so they are trying to keep up with demand. It has caused disappointments but the office staff is trustworthy and doing their best.

If anyone is in immediate danger of hurting themselves or another it is best to call emergency services with 911. If someone is capable of cooperation they may find immediate assistance at a hospital. In the cases that it is less severe and not requiring hospitalization, an outpatient mental health clinic such as Alta Vista Mental Health might be an appropriate option. If someone is experiencing any symptoms of a mental health affliction, we encourage them to seek treatments quickly. Talk to a cop, talk to a doctor, talk to a therapist, talk to a psychiatrist. There is no wrong door when seeking help for yourself or a loved one.
