This cemetary has gone down hill every year. They mulch out front to give it a nice appearance from road but the area where the flat tombstones is terrible. On Memorial Day weekend it should definitely be pristine. I know we have had a lot of rain, however, no excuse and I know it has been reported year over year....Management needs to take action tired of it!

Poorly maintained, fence has been falling apart for years with no effort to fix it.

The cemetary isn't taken care of the way it should! To cut corners they keep spraying chemicals around the graves killing off all the grass and it looks horrible! They need to take care of our loved ones resting place and not destroy it!

Questions & Answers

Looks like a reasonably nice place, or could be; could use some trees, and volunteer help. Have some ideas, if interested (looks like a Township Cemetery; is it?). I've talked to the Sexton for Grand Prairie Cemetery, near Marion, in Marion County,

Many of these older country cemeteries are neglected, and maybe we need cemetery associations, with organizational structure maintained by the county; with the cemeteries owned, and maintained, in part, by association members, with ancestors in the cemetery. For those who are interested, I have some proposals. For example, some old cemetery boundaries are indeterminate. A survey could be done, using ground-penetrating radar; to determine the cemetery's boundaries, and find unused plots, for new burials.

I want to purchase a grave site. What are your office hours? Thanks.

I'm not sure they check this. But I think they come in between 7:30-8:00am. There's just the maintenance building on site, which is also the business office. They are nice men and very helpful. Leave them a message if they are out on the grounds, they will call back.

Is there a way to find a location of a plot?

You can call the cemetery, give them the name of the deceased or you can call the funeral home that handled the arrangements. They may have recorded the plot number
