I’m very happy that so many local people are employed by Union Pacific in such a rural area. That’s truly a blessing. The one thing that is not a blessing and is an absolute NIGHTMARE is our local railroad crossings are BLOCKED so many times during the day and night for extended periods of time!! I’ve been a nurse for 32 years and I know when a medical emergency arises this situation is going to cause the loss of lives 😒 We have 3 railroad crossings in a 2 mile area and if you’re blocked on the side closest to the levee you are in a bad situation!! NOW we can’t even go on the levee to go around (which is dangerous anyway) bc the levee now has gates locked AND one of the bridges to get on the levee has been removed. Who can we call? There seems to be no help for us? It’s aggravating enough to get stuck behind these trains that sit still for 15-30 minutes at a time just in our every day life BUT needing emergency assistance for our loved ones and being trapped in is horrible. There has to be an answer? We have to have an alternative route not only for emergencies but also in the event of an evacuation. I’m begging for someone with Union Pacific to help us please πŸ™πŸ» HELP BEFORE SOMEONE DIES DUE TO BLOCKED RAILROAD TRACKS
