It’s takes 2-3 months of not paying your bill. If you’re having trouble, though, they will probably work with you to make a payment plan.
It depends on where you from I guess. Mine was in the Bronx and I was able to go in my unit when they opened which was at 9 am.
The auctions are done at the beggining of the month. You have to call the store for the exact date. Every month every storage post store holds an auction. In the Bronx, you have the following locations, Fordham, Webster, Brook, Bruckner, Then you have the Westchester locations, New Rochelle, Pelham, and Yonkers. Within the first 2 weeks of the month, they all have auctions. You Just have to call the individual store.
