This place is deplorable. I don’t know why Jacho other agencies allow this place to be open. My mother never got rehab. She did get a pt assessment 4 days in. No pt done first week in. What was done was extreme manhandling on her broken shoulder and broken leg. So she’s actually worse shape than she was when she left Augusta health on the 17th. Now it’s the 27th, she has level 2 bedsores, o2 was off 5 hours bc it fell. She can’t reach her phone when she gets changed and table is moved. No one knows why she can’t get the meds she needs. 4 days of back and forth. Don very nice but not helpful. Breakfast came at 1130 on Sunday. Lunch at 12. Aides and nurses act like I should no the proper way to put on a diaper or the proper way to move someone out of the bed or the proper way to reposition someone. I am not a nurse and I did not go to nursing school. And a lot of care that I provide is superior. It’s common sense to not rip somebody out of the bed, she has no room phone and she had a broken bed for 7 days where her feet couldn’t go up.

My name is Libby. My 91 year old aunt was sent to ANR after falling down cellar steps. I did not want her here to start with but it was the only place that had an opening. She passed away after being there around 5 weeks.I feel that ANR did not give her the care she needed. She was doing so well at Christmas but a few days later started having diarrhea. Facility doctor was in to see her a couple times. I was told it was a virus going around the hall. I couldn't be in the facility not knowing if it was contagious because we were helping take care of my 96 year old uncle and disabled cousin. When I called to check on my aunt I was told she was improving. I went to visit her the day before she passed but a sign on the door said positive covid...Enter at your own risk! I could not take that risk. Called and was told she was a little better. The next day she was taken to the ER with severe diarrhea...She had diarrhea from Wednesday to Sunday before they finally sent her to the ER!! That's because they found her unresponsive!! The ER doctor said it was C-Diff and the infection was so bad in her body her organs started shutting down! She passed away later that evening. I am certain she would still be here if she had been given proper care. We had found another facility for her to go to but with the holidays were not able to get everything finalized before she passed away. Please if your loved one has to go there stay on top of their care!! Don't get me wrong. My aunt did have some nurses and aides that were really good, however, some failed in taking care of her. I would like to add that there are more examples of my aunt not getting the care she needed. I give all the credit to her for the improvement we saw in her getting better. She was a determined woman and fought hard to get to where she could go home. But she could only do so much by herself.

There are many decisions that go into the process of choosing a nursing home for yourself or someone you care for. It is normal for the family and the resident to experience some degree of anxiety about the move. A life change as important as moving into a nursing home should be handled with care and should be made as comfortable as possible. Residents and family members can make the transition easiest by remaining informed and by proactively seeking a caring environment where the resident will feel most at home. During the transition, frustrations may occur while your loved one is becoming accustomed to the new surroundings.

Hospitals are designed for patients who have serious medical problems that can be treated only in a hospital. Insurance companies may review and stop insurance benefits when you no longer need acute hospital care. A nursing center can provide the continuing medical care and rehabilitation services you need to help you recover from illness or injury so that you can return home as soon as possible.
