I would say new patients beware. They’re pretty unresponsive/impossible to reach. Their SLA for getting back to patients is 48 business hours (which is about two weeks considering the times they’re open). But it’s been over two weeks for me, no matter how many voicemails I leave or extensions I try, following their “new patient intake forms process” doesn’t yield anything. I can’t speak for their practice other than their responsiveness. I’ve had to look elsewhere.

I have a family history of Hashimotos and had to advocate for a PCP to agree to do the proper labwork to determine if I had it when I was 25. I finally found a doctor who agreed to test my T4, T3 and antibodies and sure enough I had terrible numbers with a "normal" TSH. I saw 2 standard endocrinologists who told me I was fine and refused to see me for follow up. Luckily, a couple of years and no treatment later, I had moved to Austin and had a coworker tell me about McCall. I was so relieved at my intake appointment to have found someone so knowledgeable who ordered thorough testing to determine an actual treatment plan for me. I also have been really impressed at her integrity as a functional medicine practitioner. Her advice is well grounded in research and experience and is not merely a scheme to increase sales like you can sometimes find in functional practices. Since I began treatment with McCall in person in 2019, she has continued to tweak my treatment plan to get me feeling better every year. I moved back to the east coast in 2020 and continue to see McCall virtually and never want to see anyone else! She has helped me get my thyroid under control while still young so that I do not have to have the same experience of family members who were not treated properly for decades. I am so grateful for her expertise!

I started working with Yari Tran about 6 months ago. My experience with Modern Thyroid and Yari has been fantastic. In my first appointment, I learned more about my thyroid than 5 years of working with my prior endocrinologist. Their process is streamlined, the call notes Yari sends are so in-depth and helpful, and their straight forward pricing is clear and easy to understand. Their model of working with clients, the different ways you can meet with them, the whole process is great. I wish I had access to other providers that worked on a model like this (streamlined, digital, clear pricing, high quality visits and notes). I'm grateful I found MT and now they are stuck with me for life because their process and providers are excellent. Highly recommend them if you're considering working with their team. (I've been virtual the whole time. They do have an in-person location. At first, I was bummed to start the process all virtual but now I'm actually glad my visits are virtual and I don't think I'll ever do in-office because it's so easy).

After years of unsuccessful experiments that conventional doctors put me through ( I wouldn't call it treatment) I decided to take my chances with Mrs McCall. Sceptical of course, I scheduled an appointment. After the first one it took around 2 months to start seeing improvement. That was almost a year ago, now..I got my life back! I am thankful for people like McCall who are NOT AFRAID to treat patients, who understand science and make use of clinical studies, who know that everything in humans body is connected. Healing from chronic disease doesn't happen over night, but with help of people who know what they doing and self discipline it is absolutely possible to overcome it.
