Convenient, nice and friendly service yet the rooms could use a little TLC

Beautiful hotel with great staff, I stayed September 28-29 for my birthday and it was wonderful. We arrived a little early for check in but quickly realized we forgot the ID we needed at home, they let us sit in the lobby til we were able to figure it out. I appreciated that very much!! The room was beautiful, we had a single king bed with a balcony. Perfect view of the beach, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved that the pool was open til 11pm, I was having some trouble getting my key to work to get into the pool at first but a worker saw and came over quickly to help me. My stay was great and all the staff was super friendly and helpful, they let us stay til 11:30 despite having 11am checkout which I also really appreciated! When we were leaving, we found out our ride would be later then expected. We were going to have to walk the beach with all our bags, but the front desk let us leave them on a cart inside for as long as we needed. That really helped and I’m glad they were able to do that for us! Will definitely be staying again, you can’t beat being so close to the beach and also having an indoor pool/hot tub for the colder months. Also having friendly staff is always a plus, beautiful place and I can’t wait to stay again!! I really think a lot of the lower reviews come from people failing to call ahead and find out information they need, I did that and had no problems with my stay. I also think the price is quite fair for what they offer, will definitely be back!

90% of the amenities that were advertised that made me book this place, were either closed or out of service. This is supposed to be a first class place?? Even the vending machines were out of service! This place is not cheap. Very disappointed! Save your money and stay somewhere that has full services as advertised-open for its customers! Would not recommend for the $$$

My family and I just got back from staying at The White Sands from Friday, 9/16- Sunday 9/18. Upon arrival we noticed ants on the dresser and night stand. Ants are expected at the beach, but room was not the cleanest so could be why. Noticed mold on A/C unit, only had two lightbulbs working in our room, hair dryer didn’t work, refrigerator had food debris left outside and inside, and mattress felt like cardboard. The worst part was the employee working the Lido cafe smoked cigarettes on the balcony overlooking the pool and blew right into our room as we were trying to enjoy the fresh air (ironically enough, he sat above a sign reading NO SMOKING). He also threw in an anti-Semitic remark during a morning chat. We paid in-season pricing and did not experience in-season amenities. Cafe closed down by 12/1pm, even on Saturday when people kept coming to eat and the hotel was plenty booked. The only thing that got them 2 stars was Samantha, who ran rounds of drinks for us on Saturday and made our day. We are long standing customers and have stayed here since 2011 but unfortunately, the hotel is not what it used to be. We hope to go back for a better experience next year.

There is a kiddie pool in the back, overlooking the beach. It has a dolphin fountain in the middle. It’s to the left of the flag pole.
TV fridge and microwave are standard. I was super impressed with how close the bar was to the hot tub/pool area.
