Search for a free mason lodge near you of for the Grand Lodge of SC. There should be phone or address contact information. Contact them and express your desire to become a freemason. They will guide you through the application process.

I am fairly new to Charleston, I would really appreciate the chance to meet some members of your lodge. From what I've read and understand I believe I meet the requirements for your membership. How should I go about making this a reality ?

There was a run of coins struck by the Grand Lodge 33 years ago commemorating the 250 years since Freemasonry was established in SC. That's probably one of them.
