Currently charging $7 entrance fee on Sat and Sun. Nice beach area. Lots of picnic pads available on first come basis. Please use trash cans, plenty of them around. Staff does good job of trying to keep bathrooms clean and well stocked. Popular spots are Swim Beach, Shelter 4, Shelter 5 and Shelter 6. The Lake Trail runs thru the woods and connects all of them (look for signs and blue dots on trees marking the trail).

It's a very calm and relaxing place to unwind and enjoy nature. There's a play area for children. They have life jackets for the children if they are going to get in the water. There's plenty of picnic tables and grills. Lots of shaded areas to enjoy your meals. The restrooms are not nasty.

Yes, there are a few grills, you will need to go early to get one. I usually goes there on week days in the mornings when it is less busy.
The water is cleaner than river water. There is no mud on the bottom just sand. That's what I like about it.

It's a big area, so yes there are some good fishing spots, but in the swim areas it's not good. Look for the fishing point at the bath house in the group area sites, good fishing from shore in that area it will be first or second road to the left as you drive past the park attendant building 👍
Even though they have a sign that says no pets and people still bring theirs. They are pet friendly
