If I could give zero stars I would ! I was scheduled for a procedure that took 6 months to get ! I was excited to finally get the procure only to be told that I did not do the prep which I was NEVER told about ! Needless to say I was devastated and so disappointed that had to wait 6 months only to given incorrect instructions ! The hospital scheduler only told me to have nothing to eat or drink the night before and only a sip of water to take my morning meds. I never heard anything from the office prior to the procedure! After I and ( my husband who took the day off to drive me home ) we went by Chas GI to find out what happened and why we weren’t given the proper instructions . Of course I was told the office manager was not available and The provider’s scheduler told me that I received the instructions back in April when they made the appointment for October ! First off all I don’t remember ever getting this prep paperwork instructions and that was 6 months ago that I supposedly was given it ! They also told me they don’t call patients prior to to the procedure to give pre-op and prep instructions and passed off that the hospital should have done that so it’s not their fault nor problem and she could now schedule me for March of 2023 ! What a Joke ! One of my cousins passed away of colon cancer at 50 , as well I am AA which puts me a greater risk so this getting this procedure is of the upmost importance! I asked her so now I have to wait another 6 months to find out if there’s an issue and she said YES ! Wow I told her this is unacceptable and I was going elsewhere for the procedure she said … ok Bye , exits down hall in your right ! I now have an appointment to Elms Digestive at end of October and they can do it in office so I won’t incur a large hospital bill like I would have gotten with Chas Gi and May probably still get despite not having the procedure ! I will never go to this office nor recommend them to friend or family !!!! Chas GI is a big disappointment and waste of time especially since the provider there preached getting this done to me many times for which I waited 6 months only to be disappointed! Never Go to Chas GI - they did not care about me , my health needs or business !

Colonoscopy. Dr. Basile and staff were great. Communication, prep and procedure were made easy and comfortable.

I have been thinking about writing this review for a week. I have been a patient with Dr Irions and Charleston GI for 8 years. In the last 2.5 years I have been treated for a Crohns flare that I was never able to get rid of despite 2 courses of 2 different biologics, countless rounds of steroids, and many appointments. My treatment was okay until the last 6 months. I have been in the kind of pain and agony that has destroyed my life. I can’t work, I have had to move to live with family because of what this disease has done to me. What did Charleston GI do? Nothing. Had me come to appointments to prescribe me Bentyl and Prednisone. I asked many times to STOP the Remicade as it clearly wasn’t working. Wouldn’t budge on it. You also never speak to your GI. Just his staff. Then they stopped letting me make appointments because I owed money. After spending LITERALLY well over two hundred thousand dollars billed to my insurance they wouldn’t see me anymore over $200. Fine. But all of that money was spent and I am still as sick as I have ever been. I wasn’t rude to them as there are reviews online saying they will fire you as a patient if you argue with them. I did not have the energy. I have gone to a new GI now in a new state. They have found 2 new fistulas and a chronic infection that has been happening for at least a year. I had to have surgery last week. I am livid to this day that I wasted so much time with this office. They will not reply to you on the patient portal. They absolutely do not care about your health. They care about money. I wish they could somehow care about both. One of the biggest regrets of my life was going to Charleston GI.

I looked at their website, https://charlestongi.com/ and didn't see it mentioned. I suggest contacting them to see ...

I'd contact the practice directly to ask about your specific needs, etc. This isn't something that can be answered by a local guide....

why are all your drs. men

I doubt it was a conscious choice, or a concerted effort. Maybe the most qualified candidates who applied when they had openings happened to be men. The practice is outstanding...I highly recommended.
