As echoed by others, this facility is pretty good for assisted living, but very lacking for memory care. Management seems overwhelmed for the task... constantly complaining how hard it is to find reliable staff while allowing sub-par employees to remain at their jobs. An easy fix would be to not allow employees to sit down or be on their personal phones unless job relayed, but when this seems too much to hope for. There's very unreliable medicine distribution and generally an environment one should try to avoid if possible. If you must put your love one in Carriage Inn memory care, please consider a video monitor.

We moved my dad here after his facility abruptly closed. As I read many favorable reviews I realized that most of them relate to the independent cottages which are completely different from the memory care and assisted living facilities in the back of the property. My dad was in memory care and it was a terrible experience. Understaffed is an understatement… and the staff who are there are busy on their phones, gathering to chat loudly amongst themselves . The director is a nice guy but he has no real authority. The nurse is defensive of her staff (and rarely at the facility) and constantly quotes state requirements while saying they go above and beyond ( which they don’t!!) If you go there please put a camera in their room! You will be surprised what you can see. But even when you see what appears to be proof of an incident the management sides with the staff. It’s like catching a 5 year old with a paintbrush and his name on the wall and then believing he didn’t do it! Even when at first he admits it! Truly unbelievable and very sad. I hope my review helps deter someone from making the mistake we did.

After my father passed away, we moved my mom to a cottage in Carriage Inn of Katy. With 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, garage, kitchen, front porch, etc., the cottage was a good transition from her previous home. The environment, staff, and dining were great and we felt very good with her being there. She spent her last 4 months in the memory care unit, and again, was well cared for by staff who really cared about making people feel welcome. Management was very accommodating with anything we needed and with all transitions. We've recommended Carriage Inn to others and know many of our friends that have seniors living there.

Certain staff and director of resident care - Kimberly were very rude and disrespectful ! Very unprofessional ! I would not recommend this place to anyone. These are the kind of people that are there for the money and nothing more.
