I really had no business at the paper plant. I worked in the corrugated business for 19 years…so I can appreciate the process of making pulp from wood fibers and transforming it into usable paper products. What I can’t understand is the inherent smell that all of these processes gives to the surrounding Savannah area and especially considering it it a premier destination for travelers/tourists trying to a have an appreciation for some history. I also don’t understand how this paper plant is located right next to a wildlife refuge. Paper mills are in the top 10 of industrial “polluters” when it comes to the combination of environmental impacts(air, water, soil..etc). Well I guess this may have just been the chicken and it was here first…the refuge may have come later as a means of trying to salvage the habitat. I’m not insinuating there is any wrongdoing on behalf of International Paper or their constituents. I just found the geography ironic..that’s all:) The plant facility is huge..don’t know how many acres but it’s like a small city all lit up at night and very identifiable across the coastal plain.

The plant is open today, I have to work.
They hire people from all walks of life.
I found out through Indeed when they were hiring. Put IP in the search field, and turn on notifications. There will be either Savannah or Port Wentworth positions. Be sure to look for that. I do think they are currently. I'd check right away.
