I'd been going to this Animal Hospital for 4-5 years until recently when our dog developed some fearful behavior from going to the vet. They treated him as if he were an aggressive beast and made me sedate him and tried to muzzle him. I understand they are trying to be cautious but their anxious behavior towards him only heightened an already stressful situation. They made me feel as if my dog could no longer go to the vet. The front desk people have always been off putting and kind of rude, so they weren't any better in this case. I recently found the Animal Hospital of North Asheville where they are fear free certified, and they were shocked that Hendersonville Veterinary Hospital wanted him sedated, etc. They said he was just nervous, and made the whole process comfortable and smooth. If your dog has any sort of anxiety or fearful behavior, do not bring them here. They are clearly not equipped to deal with pets that don't exhibit perfect behavior.

The entire staff of this Hendersonville Veterinary Hospital are second to none! We had a serious dental condition with our dog that needed immediate treatment. Now this is the best part…we were not even patients at the time of my call for help. We were immediately taken in as new patients, with our corgi boy being seen by Dr. Layman and surgery being performed all within less than a week! Our boy is now doing great thanks to the entire staff that treats you like family. We have found a forever medical provider for our pets. THANKS AGAIN Dr. Layman and staff!!
