Upon walking in the lady, sorry I didn't get her name, seemed rather put off with us walking in. Maybe we caught her on a bad day, but needless to say we did not feel welcomed to stay and opted to go find better accommodations for the night. Stay if you want, beautiful old building, but they don't want anyone leaving the building after midnight. So make sure you don't forget your drink or toothbrush, etc. in the car because you will have to wait until morning to retrieve them.

definitely historic and very charming. It was clean enough but definitely not spotless. Most important the sheets are washed and the towels were clean. There were dead and living bugs in the window sills and the air conditioner is a window unit duct taped in. The doors are all skeleton keys and im fairly confident anyone with a key could open any door. We couldn’t even get our door to lock but it had a chain so we decided it was safe enough. We got a queen room for $169.00 and it was relatively small, maybe 16ft by 16ft. I didn’t use the shower but it seemed decent. There’s a few common rooms that were fun to check out though! But to comment on the haunted nature of the site i personally didn’t see anything but i did get a spooky vibe so take that as you will! In the morning there’s some fruit and breakfast snacks and coffee or a few tea options but not a full breakfast. Overall it’s definitely an experience but if you’re into modern comforts I wouldn’t suggest it.

Hotel was very cool and authentic. The hotel room was very nice, however, our bathroom door was hard to close and it would get stuck trying to open. We only stayed one night so it wasn't a huge deal. We arrived around 1. The girl working the front desk was super nice and friendly and checked us in early since we had a lot of motorcycle gear we had to unpack. She gave us lots of great tips for checking out the town. We were told check out was 10-10:30 the next morning which worked out great. The day of checking out we went and got breakfast. When coming back we told the clerk (a different woman) that we had to pack up our motorcycle and had lots to bring down, but that we would be out by 10 (remember, check out was between 10-10:30). The clerk was rude and kept trying to rush us out. We came in after our initial trip downstairs and held her hands out for the keys to my girlfriend. My girlfriend said that we weren't finished (we were locking the door in between trips, just to make sure nothing got stolen), and told my girlfriend "you'd be surprised" about how people won't go into our room. We had paid for the room and were using it as we intended to make sure our stuff didn't get stolen. My girlfriend felt pressured to rush to get all our stuff down fast despite us still making good time to be done before check out. She watched us like a hawk as we packed up the bike. Finally as my girlfriend went in for the last bit of stuff, she once again asked for the keys. This time she handed them over as we were mostly done. We checked out around 9:45/10, which was well within the 10-10:30 window. The whole experience was weird and made us not want to stay there again. I know the keys are special (they're skeleton keys) and that they want them back, but it felt like we were being hounded and watched over like children, and rushing to get out for a room we already paid for. Still a very nice place. Would be 5 stars but the check out process left a bad taste in our mouths for the rest of the trip. May or may not stay again just based on that interaction. To the first clerk that checked us in: thanks for your hospitality and wonderful tips about the town! We checked out basically everything you told us to and it was great.

Although we pulled in very late, 9:15 PM Ruth the owner was very accommodating for our check-in and grabbing something to eat down the street. We enjoyed walking around the hotel while looking/ listening for ghosts and enjoying all the open rooms and their decor. They also found my daughters earrings and will be mailing them to my house!

The decor is retro to an era gone by. I love all the parlors to read or just sit and be social. We stayed in room 314 which is supposed to be renowned but heard or saw nothing out of sorts. We did however hear a tinkling sound in the hallway coming from a room. I just loved the ambiance if the place and would stay again for sure.

Normal business hours, like 9 to 5. It's a husband and wife running the operation.

I have a question, and it’s probably a dumb question, but I’m from Kentucky and I heard that the Lowe Hotel is haunted, so I was wondering if they do any nightly ghost tours or anything like that?

Gavin Clark | May 1, 2019

No on the ghost tours. But i am a paranormal investigator and i stayed there. It usually isnt busy enough there where you cant walk the halls. I captured EVPs, and my door opening on video in my room during my stay....
