My 86 year old mother visited the store, got fabric samples, and phone ordered a lift chair for my 91 year old father. They didn’t have the chair in stock with the fabric she wanted. Upon order, her credit card was immediately charged including delivery. The only record of purchase was credit card charge. My father passed away about the time the chair arrived at store. We canceled this order and were told that all sales were final and there would be no refund on special orders. Store person said my mother had a receipt in hand indicating policy, when in fact nothing in writing had been delivered to my mother indicating this policy. Store person was able to convince superior to refund cost of chair and charge a $250. re-stocking fee. I was informed that I should be happy about this. When asked if re-stocking fee could be credited if they sold the chair in a certain amount of time, I was met with a surly “this is taking up valuable floor space”. Obviously, the culture of the store owner filters down to its staff through the aggressive and unkind attitude. Beware.
