Atlanta Silverbacks FC was the name of the professional men's and women's soccer teams that played from 1999-2015. The name was inspired by the late great WillyB silverback gorilla residing at the Atlanta Zoo. Silverbacks Park has continued with the name as a homage to the Atlanta Silverbacks FC players and fans that called Silverbacks Park their home.
