Marlene Caldwell - Physical Therapist at Cleveland Clinic Family Health Center at Chestnut Commons, Elyria, Ohio Last November my wife and I were out for our daily morning walk. My wife and I were fairly active at the time. We tent-camped, walked daily, rode our bicycles and exercised at home and at the gym. All that until November 2021. While returning home from our morning walk a vehicle backed out of a driveway so fast that it barely missed my wife but the vehicle knocked me down to the ground. My wife’s screams made the vehicle stop but unfortunately the driver stopped it with its right rear tire motionless on top my right leg because I was lying on the sidewalk. My right leg was crushed. The result was broken bones and severe muscle and tissue damage. I was transported to Cleveland Clinic Strongsville, Oho Surgery Center for dermatological surgery and skin grafting which was the beginning of months of massive tissue and muscle damage treatment. Then it was on to Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital for orthopedic surgery for my broken bones. From there I was transported to the Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Facility in Avon, Ohio for a month of rehabilitative treatments and physical therapies. I can’t believe I didn’t have the best doctors and nurses at those locations because the initial ER examinations had pointed to the amputation of my leg. The Rehabilitation Center simply and caringly got me ready enough to go home. When they deemed me ready I was transported home for weekly and frequent home care administered by the Cleveland Clinic Home Nursing and Physical Therapy Departments. I slept in a hospital bed at home and had to use a wheelchair. The Home Care nurses changed my large wounds and the Physical Therapy nurses trained me on how get around the house and also gave me balance exercises to prevent me from falling. Again I can’t believe I didn’t have the best home nurses and physical therapists. My care was so demanding and intensive for my wife that she did barley more than tend to my daily wound dressing care procedures and help me get around the house safely. The home nurses did this for the four months the in-home wound care and physical therapy visits required. When home care expired I was referred me to out-patient physical therapy at Cleveland Clinic Elyria, Ohio at the Chestnut Commons Physical Therapy Center where I was assigned to Physical Therapist Marlene Caldwell. I had fifteen appointments with Marlene Caldwell which eventually turned out be critical in getting me back toward my pre-accident activity level and my wife and I back to our favorite activities. I attribute much of it to just how mindful, watchful, intuitive, creative, planning and organized Marlene Caldwell is by her very nature. Injuries and inactivity had left me weak, inflexible and also with balance issues. Marlene Caldwell used her keen observation and correlation skills to match what she observed closely as I moved. Through those physical therapy exercise, observation and discovery appointments with Marlene Caldwell I became able to clearly understand what to watch for and to concentrate on for when those sessions expired and I was on my own at home. As a result my wife and I are back to tent-camping, bicycle riding, exercising. I go to the gym almost daily and my wife does aerobics and yoga daily. Please convey our gratitude to Cleveland Clinic personnel at every location I was treated but most especially to Marlene Caldwell at the Cleveland Clinic Elyria Chestnut Common Physical Therapy department for helping me save my leg and for helping my wife and I get so much of our life back.

It's time to update the covid Draconian mandates. Even the CDC has changed its guidance and masks are no longer warranted. Not only are cases low but the current variant is nothing compared to the original strain or even Delta especially for those who are vaccinated as they pushed on us incessantly to get. If this were any other business and I didn't have to go I certainly would have chosen a different business.

Can't ever get through to your provider. You're on hold forever. When you finally do get through to someone, it's not even your provider. It's someone who will send a message to your provider. They also billed the wrong insurance for one of my family members. It wasn't even an insurance that person ever had. When he tried to remedy the situation, he was told their computers weren't working correctly so they couldn't verify his correct insurance. Doesn't give one much confidence in their organization

Usually only a short wait to see my doctor there. Parking is very limited due to multiple businesses on site.
