I visited the birth center in 2020. I was a client at the height of the pandemic & let me just say, I couldn't of been happier. I still, 2 years later, love sharing how amazing all the ladies there are & my overall birthing experience. (I had a water birth) from my first appointment to my last, I always walked out of there so pleased. My delivery was perfect )& VERY FAST) my midwife and nurse that evening were phenomenal. What a different experience then a hospital birth (my first was born in thr hospital) I absolutely recommend them & the whole holistic pregnancy experience.

I highly recommend. From front desk to the midwives, everyone was always kind & helpful. I had a successful water birth as planned, and would use them again (except I’m not having anymore babies lol). Way more comfortable then my first baby (that was natural) but in a hospital setting. No unnecessary interventions and hospital stay. It was actually a lot more relaxing to be able to come home to my own bed/home after.

Disorganized. Constantly calling to schedule or reschedule already scheduled appointments. Asked for my records to be faxed to a new provider, they failed to do so after a week. Provider missed basic aspects of an examination. Upsells courses, but lazy disconnected care.

My daughter was a patient with this birth center of Delaware. At 41 weeks she was very tired and uncomfortable with carrying her baby. This birth center informed her she could be induced at Christiana Hospital because they had a partnership with them and they would be with her all the way. Well after 36 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing she had to get a c-section due to her baby's weight She was against having a c-section, but it was out of her control. Unfortunately this center did not keep track of her baby's weight so she couldn't tell the doctors on call how much the baby weighed at the time of delivery. The birth center promised her they would keep in touch with her after the baby was born and that they would send a nurse to her home to check on her and the baby. Well that was all lies, they left my daughter hanging on a limb when she needed them most, especially when her incision from the c-section seemed infected. She was treated so unfairly and this was her first experience ever having a baby now she doesn't want to have anymore kids.

TBC accepts most insurances. You can call or contact TBC through the website to ask about your specific insurance. :)
VBAC would be something that would require delivery at a hospital, though you have the option of having your prenatal care at The Birth Center until approximately 28 weeks.
