The worst experience I've ever had with a provider. I had to wait 3 hours to be seen by anybody; mind you, I PAID to be seen and for all of my labs. The providers who saw me are not trained in cultural competency at all regarding the LGBTQ community. I felt degraded and judged by the doctor who saw me. I could tell everyone would rather be somewhere else, at one point the provider actually told me this. This clinic services the most vulnerable people in Atlanta, people referred to this resource deserve better than what's being delivered. Something needs to change both culturally and operationally, because whatever is going on here isn't working.

Grady Health System should be “appalled” how this system is operated! John M. Haupert, Grady Health System CEO, be the change for psychiatric care that Fulton and Dekalb counties need! The wait time exceeds three hours; the staff is very unprofessional at check-in. Staff have personal conversations, while sipping hot tea. Change is needed NOW!

She needs to be non violent to walk in. If she is out of meds sometimes the ER is faster. 10 park place can take 2 weeks or more to get started on meds. Emory/gwinnett medical will take her in and have her stable and on meds within a couple of days don matter her condition. 10 park place grady outpatient is good for people already established on medication. Also mercy care is open 5 days a week at the king Memorial marta stop. They have on staff psychiatry and may get the meds for free that day. Call ahead. Good luck and we know your struggle. I'm duel diagnosed and if I'm not on my meds I am a maniac. I have also been through what your going through with my Grandmother, she was institutionalized for 4 years...we couldn't get her out. It was a nightmare. Now she lives on her own and has a peaceful life because she takes her meds by setting a timer...she knows the trauma of being off them. God bless you and your mother. My family and grandmother are praying for an easy passage to health
The klonopin i dont know but the seroquel most definitely
A person can have mental issues without having mental illness. Grady is for people without insurance. If he wants to ask for help, Grady is a good place to go.
Call a doctor
Only for individual therapy sessions and doctors appointments, no group sessions.
Ask about the Grady insurance card. If he doesn’t have insurance he may can qualify. I think it has something to do with monthly income too
