It was odd that they have the children go downstairs in the basement. It made me feel uncomfortable. The monk just read in monotone voice to 2 children including my son. My son never wanted to go back and neither did I.

I loved the warm and friendly welcome from everyone. I was a little unsure of traditions and "how-tos" but everyone was gracious, understanding, and helpful as I learned.

Questions & Answers

I have been drawn to this belief in things happen to good people and bad and I badly want to understand this. Is this view able to help accept things like this? I have heard buddhism address concerns in areas like this?.??

Our temple practices Jodo Shinshu Buddhism, a distinctly Japanese denomination of Buddhism, which teaches that the insights of the Dharma (teachings of truth) are accessible to everyone. You can learn more about the beliefs by visiting our website and clicking on the newcomer's tab: https://longmontbuddhism.org/newcomers/

What lineage do you follow? Are you Tibetan?
