My grandmother recently passed and with what money she left behind I decided to repair her mother rug that's at least 70 years old. So I can't even imagen how dirty it was. They quoted me a price for the deep cleaning over the phone. I pulled up and an AWESOME employee names James Garner came out and helped me unload it and explain the whole process my rug would go through. Explained it's probably need a new backing( it was glued on and their were bubbles which meant the glue was coming up on those places :I appreciated him explaining) he even got a quote for the backing. They were super nice and gave me a 20% discount on my deep clean. And after the deep clean they realized to avoid any further fraying I would need it to be surged. They called me to ask if it was what I'd want. And then after I confirmed they got it done rather quickly. In all I paid less then about $750 for everything was super surprised it cost me less then $1000. DEFINITELY recommend for rug cleaning and restoration... Including antique rug restoration.

You can take it outside and sweep it with a regular corn broom or use a ratton manual rug beater. Also, I have used the carpet sweeper made by Rubbermaid, but it is limited to mostly just picking up some lint and minor pet hair. If the rug is durable/ sturdy enough you can use a vacuum that has the ability to disengage the beater bar.
Depending on the condition of the rug, it will take between 2 and 3 weeks.
