This was actually my first experience with a dedicated German restaurant and I will say that the atmosphere is absolutely adorable and their service staff are all gems. Incredibly polite and helpful staff. That being said, from what I can read German food is simple and without complex flavors. I ordered the Jägerschnitzel and it wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping from the description, but I have been told it is as authentic as it gets for nyc. Maybe German food isn't for me but I won't count it against this place.

The food was absolutely excellent! Large portions that are cooked and prepared to perfection. The dessert was delicious too. Thank you!

Restroom is on lower level
Call the restaurant and call the store next door they will give you the exact recipe and what what kind of herring to use
It's important to make a reservation on a holiday, Friday, or Saturday. If you have a large group or it's Oktoberfest. Otherwise, you can just show up.
I'm sure the steaks are excellent, but you can get good steaks in many places. What you can't get is authentic German Jaeger schnitzet (breaded veal cutlet) with a brown mushroom ... Perfect eith a Weiss Bier. No one outside Germany does it this well.
I think they serve until 10:00 P.M.
It was open for lunch last Tuesday ....so...I'm going to say "yes"
There's outdoor dining but I don't know about dogs. Probably ok.
I don't work there. It was my first time as a patron. I recommend that you call them and ask them.
Ate outside in a tent with heater. No indoor dining in NYC. Reservations were preferred. We were seated quickly.
Probably not it's a stream lined menu
They don't ship as far as I know.
Yes there are no steps.....a wheelchair can easily fit through the doors
The Atlas mall is not too far away. And it offers shopping for a variety of shops and grounds large enough for a good stroll with friends.
Yes
Just get the Jaegetschnitzel. Mushroom gravy to boot. Best breaded veal cutlet. Sorry no lamb chops. However the retail store at the end if the restaurant may carry it
Parking isn't great but with a little effort you'll find a spot on a residential street.
This question I don't know the answer to. I can say that I'd be surprised to learn that there is no German heritage in the ownership and supervision. To me, the place is spot on.
Yes they do and I know this because I just ate the last of the bag I bought while I was there. Delicious is the word for them.
