Love the vibe in the store especially it's long history. The two ladies( owner and attendant) are so sweet and friendly. Now about the yummy stuff. We grabbed a few pieces of nearly every dark chocolate item they had and they have a lot. Chocolate covered marshmallows, fruits, nuts, and pretzels. Their chocolate is superb, very rich and flavorful. They also have fruit jellies, and hard candy too. Can't wait to go back. We made the mistake of sharing the chocolate with the kids and two pounds went very quickly.

Not what I expected, the candy is homemade and delicious. Has history behind it as well which was interesting. Very welcoming, I recommend to check it out if you have a sweet tooth

Schmidt's candy was a constant part of our families' "server", the dining room cabinet that contained candy and housed the punch bowl on top. I thought I had figured out how to creep downstairs, stealthily, after bedtime, to remove a piece of candy from the server only to "overhear", one evening, my mother saying to my father, both of whom were in the living room next door,"Do you hear someone taking candy from the server?" Anyway, the box of Schmidt's candy I just bought is as tasty and terrific as it was back then. YUM!

Important!! ⚠️ Closes from early June to Labor Day. They don’t use a/c so heat is not great for selling chocolate. Great place though! Old school. Taste is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but presentation is ⭐️⭐️. Decor is also lacking. Hand dipped chocolate mint patties have me coming back for more though!
