Dr Ramaiya and her team are very knowledgeable and quickly designed a plan to help me overcome a severely strained back muscle. The back muscle injury was present for over a year and after multiple unsuccessful visits with other PT’s - Dr Ramaiya was able to get me going again on the golf course within a month or so- I don’t normally take the time to write reviews so that in and of itself tells you my PT experience was exceptional!!

My experience at Body Moksha with Dr. Tejal and her team was great. My sessions were productive, accurate and I’m now I’ve returned to running, which I didn’t think would ever happen again. Body Moksha creates a plan that is both attainable and healing! Thank you!

As a triathlete, I am often acquiring new injuries. Tejal has not only fixed each and every issue, but she has set me up for success by teaching me what I can do to avoid having the same issue occur again. She has taught me the importance of strength training and kept me on track to achieve my dreams. 140.6 miles later I was able to become an Ironman thanks to her help!

Dr. Tejal is excellent -- listens carefully, gives clear and helpful advice, and provides physical therapy and exercises that have been very beneficial for the conditions I am struggling with (pain in my shoulder, knee, and Achilles). She has also made herself available over text and email between sessions to answer questions which in my experience is quite unusual. Highly recommend!

Not at all. Our main priority is to find the root cause of your problem and present you with the best options and solutions. After which it is your decision to decide if you value your health enough to get started right away on your road to recovery. We KNOW we can give you the best care and results and only want the best for you, regardless of your decision.
The odds are if you’re reading this you’ve been dealing with pain for some time now. If it hasn't gone away on its own by now, it probably isn't going away anytime soon. You run the risk of doing unforeseen and untold damage to your joints or muscles if you don't get the proper care your body needs. Sometimes it's just as simple as changing the way you're walking or fixing the way you do certain motions, but it all starts with talking to a specialist and finding the root cause of your issues.
Yes! Physical Therapy was made for people like you. Most joint problems begin with warning signs like those clicking and cracking sounds you hear. A few years later this then begins to develop into pains and aches. The good news is with Physical Therapy we can help you prevent from even getting there and get you back on track to great joint health!
Not really. But it is true that physical therapy is a very physical experience, and as such, treatments may be a little uncomfortable at times. But we will always aim to be as gentle, as possible, and cause the minimal discomfort we possibly can, to get your problem solved as fast as we can. Before we do any therapy techniques we will tell you exactly what is about to happen, whether or not it is likely to hurt, and for how long.
There are a couple reasons for this. (A) Most primary Doctors are NOT trained to know injuries and the symptoms of physical pains well enough to understand when you can benefit from PT. (B) Primary care doctors in the public sector don't like the idea of the private health sector existing. So rarely will they go out of their way to recommend private PT. In the end, It has nothing to do with our actual services and more so about a lack of information on their end.
No! The only thing you need is the will to learn and patience. We know you’re not going to wake up all of the sudden cured from all of your pains but the fact you're willing to invest in your health and are seeking help is a great start!
Things like massage/manual therapy, stretching and loosening of joints and muscles, and dry needling combined with exercises and advice to improve posture. We also have PTs who are Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists, trained in several unique techniques and exercise programs, such as dry needling, Maitland Australian Hands-on Physiotherapy and McKenzie Physiotherapy techniques for the spine, and other joints.
A better question to ask yourself is how much is your health worth to you? Most people don't have a problem spending a few hundred dollars on coffee each month but are reluctant to invest that same money into their own health!! Our Physical Therapy Services have no “general” price we could give you until we speak to you and learn about your specific struggles and concerns. We like to emphasize the fact that we work for you and craft each program and session specifically tailored to your needs and pains.
The answer is Yes! This is a common issue we see with many of our patients who are either avid bikers or just like to take a casual ride on the weekends. This is good news for you! Some of our specialists deal primarily with bikers and that nagging knee pain. The first step towards getting that knee back to full health is to see one of our doctors and discover what type of road map and plan they may recommend for your specific issue.
The benefit is that this isn’t just some quick band-aid fix. Once you go through your program with our specialists, you’ll be able to get back to doing the things you love, AND remain pain free while doing so.
This depends on what your goals are. But just like all things, nothing is guaranteed. If your hope is to attend one session and have your pain automatically and magically go away, then no, PT will not help you. But if you are willing to remain consistent with what our Doctors tell you you should and shouldn't be doing, with time and effort you WILL reach those goals you’ve set.
To be brief, we look for a cure. While we do very similar techniques as osteopaths and chiropractors such as manipulation of spine, we also do a combination of other treatments including: massage therapy, dry needling, stretching and more. All of these in conjunction are used to make sure we reduce your pain and avoid the need for repetitive visits in the future.
ASAP! In the little time that you decide to wait, so many people make fatal, misinformed mistakes when it comes to dealing with sudden pain. The best thing for you to do would be to come in and explain your situation to our Doctors. At the very least we would be able to point you in the right direction of what you can do and what NOT to do.
Only if the time is right and we think you doing them is not going to make your pain worse. We’ll give you as many hints or tips as possible that you can be using when you go back home that night. We’ll supply you with short videos and instructions when need be. In addition, we’re available around the clock to answer any questions or concerns you might have while at home.
Absolutely! From the minute you tell us you’re ready to get started we will start crafting your personalized plan to get you working towards your goals. You won't magically get healed after the first session, but you’ll surely be one day closer to participating in the activities you’ve been missing out on and start to notice improvements.
We hear this all the time. You’ve tried PT in the past and don’t think PT will really be able to help you. If your problem or concern is one of pain and or stiffness in muscles or joints of the following areas: • Back • Hip • Knee • Neck/Shoulder • Ankle/Foot • Wrist/Hand • Jaw • Headaches Then it’s 99% likely that PT will be able to help you. When you have your evaluation our Doctors will explicitly outline the roadmap of how we plan on getting you back on track and break it down step by step, session by session so you feel confident that you will get back to doing the things you love.
When you go in-network, the physical therapist will have multiple patients at the same time. They won’t be able to give you the individualized, holistic, progressive treatment that will help you solve your problem permanently. Our patients who have tried in-network physical therapy prior to coming to us tell us that they ‘didn’t feel listened to’, they ‘felt like a number’, or their ‘PT wasn’t with them most of the time’. This leaves them frustrated and hopeless that they're not going to get better. Out-of-network physical therapy does not have the same insurance restrictions as in-network. That’s why we can spend one-on-one time with you to truly ‘listen’ to what’s going and come up with a relevant and customized plan that will get you to your goals within a specified amount of time. We can also take a more holistic approach so that we can get to the root cause of your problem so that you find a permanent solution rather than a band-aid solution.
There are many things that make us very different from most physical therapists. For starters, we take a very holistic approach to your injury. We don’t just treat the area of pain, we treat the root cause of it. We do this by doing a very thorough physical assessment so we find the source of your pain, rather than trying random band-aid treatments that only treat the symptoms. We also progressively increase your exercise program based on your improvements so that you aren’t doing the same exercises over and over that you could be doing at home. We make sure you are challenged enough with your program so that you can see real results and improvement in your workouts, training, sport and life.
There are many different ways to manage your pain without going to physical therapy. But these methods won’t give you a long term solution to your pain or injury. They will only make you ‘feel better’, but they won’t help you ‘heal’ and get stronger so that you find a permanent solution to your problem. Check out our website to learn more.
Your physical therapy appointment will last 60 minutes and will be one-on-one with your therapist. You will see the same therapist every visit and your time will not be shared with another patient. This allows us to get more done during those 60 minutes so we can provide the most customized and progressive approach to your treatment.
Yes! This is the perfect time for you to get things addressed with physical therapy. It’s always easier to prevent a fire than to put it out. If you’re having stiffness and tightness that doesn’t seem to go away, this can be a sign of imbalances in the body and could put you at a higher risk of injury. Using our methods, and specialist physical therapists can help get rid of this stiffness and get you on a program for long lasting relief.
Absolutely NOT. We specialize in working with active adults in their 40s, 50s, or 60s who want to stay active and pain-free into their 70s, 80s, and 90s. Our most common patients are people just like you who just want to get back to their favorite activities and normal lives without pain. We work mostly with recreational and competitive master’s level athletes but also see their kids because they trust us so much with their health. No matter what your age, we can work with you!
There are multiple factors that can cause and influence pain which can be different for everyone. Typically, we see improvements in pain levels from day 1 which continue to improve as your sessions progress. You should see an improvement in pain levels by session 3-4 so that you know you’re on the right track.!
That can vary by case but typically, when you first start with us, you will likely need a bit more support to improve your pain levels and get experience with your exercise program. So early on during the first 1-2 weeks, we may see you 2 times per week. Once your pain levels improve and you are starting to get stronger, we will see you once per week and then may even progress to every other week. As you get stronger and more independent, your frequency of sessions will decrease until you get back to your goals pain-free.
At Body Moksha Physical Therapy, we specialize in working with active adults who are frustrated with an injury or pain and missing their workouts get back to being consistently active so they can lead a healthy and fulfilling life. If you’re in your 40s, 50s, or 60s and want to stay active into your 70s, 80s, and 90s, physical therapy can help you.
