The Houston Loft
The history alone at this gym is five stars. The feel and the ownership is top notch. Being from Brooklyn and having something like this for the youth is second to none. Such an amazing gym, I would recommend to anyone. Check it out for yourself! 🥊

This a beautiful gym enriched with family values and mores extended down from the founder Jimmy O’Pharrow. If you’re looking to place your child or joining yourself. This is the perfect place for a pugilist.

This gym has been my home and sanctuary since May 2015. With Coach Chance I amassed 45 plus fights including Olympic Trials, Golden Gloves, National Championships, to name a few. The culture in this boxing gym is filled with love and hard work which was passed down by the legendary Great Jimmy Opharrow. Known for having produced and housed some of New York City's greatest fighters since its start in the 1970s, and it being close to where I lived, I choose this as my home. I love this gym. We were closed for a few years and I still repped this gyms name as we trained in other gyms, many without boxing rings. Just the desire to become a champion with a team of like minded people. I'd say if you are looking for a real boxing gym that isn't watered down look no further. SCBG has Coach Chance, Coach Greg, and Jila who are ogs in the building, Coach Jewels who is a Trinidadian National Champion and was supposed to go to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, and Coach Heavy who was Jimmy Os last student to name a few. And shout out to Kwani and Cindy Opharrow the owners of the gym as well. Kwani is continuing the legacy of his grandfather Jimmy O. -Ryan "The Roaring Lion " Lopez (AKA RyLo)
