Yes. You can bring dogs there. We swim our dog there all the time. Please make sure you keep a long leash on your dog if you let him or her swim. They can get caught in the current and get swept downstream.
Yes. There is trout fishing at Appelt. The seams and pools are usually good to hit, either spinning or fly casting.
